We were on the list, so we didn't have to pay a cover. The wait in line was quick. When you walk in, you go down a few stairs or you can slide down the slide. The night I went no one was using the slide though. The place is very small, there's only one bar and the dance floor is tiny! Expect to be pushed and elbowed if you're on the dance floor. The DJ played boring music. It's hot and it's cramped and there's no where to find a place to rest. Definitely won't be going here again.

Went on a Saturday with a few girlfriends for a birthday party of a friend of a friend of a friend haha. Got there around 1am to a huge line and a mean looking bouncer. Friend of friend said our name would be left at the door. Had to talk to three different people before we were let in. I was patient and polite and I think it paid off. We were given these paper tickets which entitled us to get stamped and go into the upstairs room. We walked past the curtain and were pretty awestruck at the scene...beautiful people everywhere, green leaves on the walls, lighting was amazing, bottles everywhere. The dj was one of the best I have heard...I didnt stop dancing all night. The downstairs had a different vibe and I only went down there to use the ladies room. I went to the left of the bar downstairs and there was a nice girl employee who unlocked a bathroom for me no questions asked.  So everytime I would go to her and never wait in a line for the other bathrooms. This place was still hoppin at 5am when we stumbled out..and there was even a line to get in at the time! Amazing! I will be back!

I usually avoid restaurant week like the plague, but I was dying to try this restaurant and in theory restaurant week always sounds like such a great deal! To begin with I really liked the space. Having sat through innumerable, albeit amazing meals, in the tiniest restaurants imaginable (basically where you feel like you're sitting on your neighbor's lap) it was nice to have a little room to stretch. We were seated immediately despite being late for our reservation- whoops our bad. Our server was attentive and well versed on the menu. As far as the food goes, I liked it, but wasn't swooning over it. Maybe Israeli food isn't my thing. I feel like there isn't enough variety in the flavors to get me drooling at the table and wishing for more. The salatim to start with consisted of 8 different salads ranging from beets to chickpeas to tabouli. The standout was definitely the beet salad. Uniquely delicious with a wonderful sweet beet flavor (but nothing too overpowering for you beet haters). The tabouli and eggplant were ok and the carrots were also super yum. I really liked the idea of trying small portions of salads. The hummus, as everyone has raved about, was also delic. The crispy haloumi was good, but not awesome, and after a few bites I was more than done with the dish. Its really hard to screw up deep fried cheese, but I did like the accompanying fig jam, and this was definitely a case where I appreciated the smaller portions. As for the fried cauliflower, I also found the dish to be decent but not great. It was a bit on the salty side and I found myself only wanting to eat a small bit. Nothing was wrong with it, but I didn't find myself wanting more. We completed the apps with the stuffed peppers and kibbe naya. The kibbe naya was yum, albeit a little dry. Just a few sips of my yummy Indian Summer cocktail took care of that. As for what could theoretically be called the main course (remember its all small plates) we had the Turk and the Merguez, which basically tasted the same to me minus the fact that they were accompanied by different grains. Don't get me wrong they were both tasty, but nothing left me wishing for more. For dessert we had the chocolate semifreddo and the roasted pear (both delic) Overall I totally enjoyed the meal for the ambiance, great service and different cuisine (its nice to step out of the box). Just not sure if Israeli food Zahav style is my thing...
