by Lina O. on my girl friends and i checked this place out on a friday night after reading its reviews on good ol' rateclubs. we know this place as "little pedros" even though we've never been there. we are practically there (across the street at the temple) every weekend. anywho, street parking only, dont park in the temple parking lot if its open. you'll get your car locked inside. one time someones car got locked in from little pedros and they pulled down the gate with their car to get it out! insane. so dont park in the parking lot! we went on a friday night and there was a $5 cover. i wasnt really expecting a cover because i didnt remember reading anything in anybody's reviews about a cover. but its all good. we got a black stamp on our inner right wrist of a kiss mark. we felt like we just got matching tattoos hahaha the whole place has a moulin rouge feel to it. the lady bartenders are dressed in black corsets with fish net stockings and short shorts. the whole place is really dim with red lights. the scene is pretty chill. lots of artsy fartsy people with tattoos. i think they said that the dj is from kroq? that night there were some bands playing. we got to see two of them. i only remember one of bands names... One Hundred Days. they are from san fran and were pretty good. just the sound system of the whole place kind of sucked. im sure the band would have sounded better with a better system. the music is loud but no one dances. maybe they're all "too cool" to dance. drinks are decently priced and STRONG! sometimes we'd get a whiff of some weird smell. i didnt see anybody eating anything but i read in other reviews that you can get food?? its a pretty cool place. seems like a place where people can just go to have a drink and chill. and listen to some live bands play.
by Travis Vial on i'm gonna have to disagree with my coworker Chelsea J and say this place is pretty poor. the margaritas are good (not the best i've had, but not the worst either, and having so many flavors to choose from is fun), but the food is weak. not bad, just weak. i realize that most mexican restaurants in new york are far from authentic, but this place is particularly so, and pricier too. go to a MaryAnn's instead.
