by Shelagh P. on I went to Home this past weekend for my friend's birthday and actually didn't hate it! I had low expectations considering the reviews I'd read and the fact that in general I just don't like clubs. But I had a good time, even though I recognize that this was probably circumstantial. Soo... Pros: -It's pretty inside. Pretty couches, pretty lighting, pretty waitstaff. -In addition to being pretty, the staff was surprisingly friendly. When I walked in I expected haughtiness but it really was the opposite. -If you have enough people to make the price even out, get bottle service so you can sit on said pretty couches. It was nice to have our own area in the beginning because we were able to just sit and talk. It was helpful as the night progressed and the place got packed, because it offered refuge when your feet started to hurt or the crowds got irritating. -Shaq was there! I could care less about basketball but I was excited nonetheless. -SOME of the music was really good. Intermittently. Which brings me to... Cons: -Our DJ had at least six personalities. The music was SO random. I like variety, but this was just manic. Also, he was awful at mixing and there would be these long pregnant pauses when he was clearly fumbling for what to play next. I didn't really pick up on it at first but David seemed horrified and after that I noticed it consistently throughout the night. -So expensive! We got bottles between a whole bunch of us which made it somewhat more manageable, but it was still rather absurd. Especially considering they apparently couldn't even fork out the cash for a decent DJ. All in all though, it's a good time. Not my usual scene, but good for a big night out if you're willing to spend some cash and elbow through some crowds.
by Darnell Laureno on Huge place, lots of pool, fooseball, darts & cheap drinks. I was happy to see more than just Bud, Bud Light, Coors Light & Lone Star on Tap (seemed like that's all the other bars on 6th had). We roamed in after a horrible lunch at Hickory Street, played a little pool & darts, had a few beers and just an all around good time. The place is very laid back, service was good and prices were great. Would definitely recommend that you check this place out.
