by Razel M. on It was my friend's birthday, I had lost a sushi bet, and I found out that Vienna Teng was playing. And that was what took us to Yoshi's. We walked in and wow, that was all we could say. Just the look and feel of the place was amazing. Definitely the kind of place you wanna dress up for. We were just in time for the doors, but there was a rather long line and we had a table reserved anyway, so we hung out at the bar for a bit. The drinks were mixed pretty well and the bartenders were decently attentive. Then it was showtime! We ordered a couple more drinks. My friend enjoyed his, but my amaretto sour was a lot more sour than it should have been. The sushi we ordered was so-so, not bad but also not in the top 5 I've ever had. I really liked that we could order drinks and food during the performance, however there were only about 2 servers on the floor, and when you consider the number of people in there.... I would definitely come back just to hang out in the lounge, and maybe keep updated on who's playing... But the food was a little overpriced for what you get. So if you're craving good sushi this isn't where you wanna go, but if you just feel like having a nice, relaxing night at a nice place, maybe with some good music thrown in, then by all means come to Yoshi's.
