Also, the burgers are pretty good, but that aole sauce that comes out with the fries along with ketchup is a winner. I had the turkey burger and I usually get that because of the perfect blend of stuff to have on top a burger. The only complaint I have is the place is to small. Its really not good for a group more than four people and even that might be to many. It just feels cramped inside and I have not sat outside yet. The actual bar is alright, but I will go back for the fries. Recommendation: For people that like a hip scene and love sweet potato fries definitely go, If you are in a big group or claustrophobic do not.
by Christine T. on Came here just for the Mexican Martinis on a Monday night. Heard it was really good from the other location. We were closer to this location so we stopped by this one. Then I realized I left my ID in my other clutch because I went to a wedding reception in H-town the night before (which was on my birthday). I thought I could get away without having to show my ID and drinking. But ohhh was I wrong.... my bf ordered the martini for me and I drank.... and I drank.... and I drank..... and drank some more. Till the cup was half gone. Then our waiter came and asked for my ID if I wanted to drink more, I told him I forgot it at home and that I lived in Houston... I tried to show him my school ID and whatever other cards I had on me. I even told him it was my bday the night before. But he was being soooo strict about it. He was such a jerk how he responded too... omg! I definitely don't look like I'm younger than 20 years old. If anything he looks younger than me serving alcohol. But whatever if he wasn't gonna let me drink then I'm going somewhere else. I don't need to be here. Another thing that got me mad was that he charged us for chips and salsa he brought out on his own without asking us. WTH we didn't order that....we only came to drink. I just wanted to leave and get out of there. So we just payed the tab and left no tip for his ass since he charged us for something we didn't order. Make sure to check the tab so you won't get charged for what you didn't order. So darn strict about ID.
by Keith Eckblad on Went to Jillian's to see the much heralded De La Hoya/Mayweather fight Saturday night. As with match like this, the place was packed with your typical SF tourist as well as your boxing fan who live outside of the City and come to the City to "party" on the weekend. A fight broke out during the actual match between two trash talking tables. Thank goodness security was on top of it but hot latinos, alcohol and boxing is typically not a recipe for peace negotiations. If you like to eat bar food, watch big screen and pay $$ to be at a classy sports bar, then Jillian's is for you. For us SF residents, it's a place to reacquaint yourself with those who don't live in the City. I quickly realized that there is sometimes as much fun to be had in a sports bar as there is in an art museum.... A two star for me but an extra star for the staff and security keeping everything together during the melee. P.S. Oscar did not win!
