Greenhouse. I usually like to research a place before I go and that's exactly what I did before I went to Greenhouse this past Friday. I thought it was pretty cool that a club had gone "green" so I was really excited to check it out. I read all about the LED lights and bamboo flooring. Well the first plus for me was parking. I didn't have to circle around a million times like I usually do when I party elsewhere. I'm guessing because that area doesn't have a lot of clubs nearby? Who knows. Second plus was no line!!! I'm guessing this is because the club is still fairly new? Oh well, not like I wait in line anyway, lol. I did overhear some girl say she forgot her ID and the door guy let her right in. Attention YOUNG-INS!!! lol. Not sure if I should really be announcing that, but I was 19 once... so why not share the wealth. you have more fun when your not 21 anyway. lol. the good ol' days! Anyways, my bf and I got right in after the door guy instructed my bf to go check his coat. sure. We walked into a crowd of beautiful people, flashing LED lights, and lit sparklers for the table that just ordered champagne. (The LED lights go with beats of the music.) They were also filming for something that night. Well, it was your typical club scene. the usual rich kids/socialites, rich older men, blonde fake boobie girls, promoters, and the chicks that party with promoters. the crowd was sexy though - it's always nice to be surrounded by beautiful people. And it wasn't as pretentious as lets say, Tenjune. The music however, was a little funky and somewhat random.. It lacked a bit more hip hop for my taste. I guess it just wasn't that kind of crowd. I only saw one bar when I was there. I didn't really feel like walking around and I didn't go to the bathroom all night so I cant fill you in on that. I do agree with everyone else though, the bar IS small!!! I guess they are more of a bottles/table club. Now that I look back, there really wasn't a dance floor either. The club is just tables and more tables. What's the point of a dance floor when all the drunk girls dance on couches! lol. I eventually checked my coat and it was so annoying to walk down all those stairs half drunk and in heels! I don't think having coat check "downstairs" is a good idea for any club. Can you imagine how many drunk people, especially chicks in heels must fall or slip?? OOO MAN. One last plus was the LOCATION! It's right outside the holland tunnel so I was home in no time! 7 minutes to be exact. :D Overall I had a great experience.  I'm actually going back tonight for a friends birthday. So if my views change or if I have anything more to add, I will! I mean it is Wednesday so it will probably be better tonight. NYC clubs are so much better on the weekdays.

Hmmm. What can I say? I had a great time. No compliants really. We arrived here about 10:30 or so (FREE before 11 if you sign up on the guestlist) on a Saturday night. The place wasn't busy at all as expected at this time of the night. You've got about 3 different levels and probably 4 or 5 different rooms with different music in each if you're feeling a little jumpy and don't want to stay in one place too long. It seemed that the top floor and patio seemed to be the most popular at the time. Good view of the city and the weather was perfect for a couple of drinks outside. My only problem with the balcony is that it's great if you want to talk because the music is kept really low, but I came to a dance club. I want to DANCE!!! That's why you've got all the other rooms to wander too so I did. lol In each room you've got a bar so no worries on making the trip to another part of the club and if you're wondering the bathrooms are set up the same way. Who wants to be in a club with 5+ different rooms/ parts of the club and you've only got your choice of 1 or 2 bathrooms in said parts of a busy club? Not I. So they've got you covered on this as well. To be honest with you the music was ok. I don't think they played techno because I didn't leave with a headache but the music was danceable. Probably top 40s, and the bartenders, door guy and girl were all super nice.  Despite the hip scene that entered after 11:30pm and the nice setting the staff was as welcoming as the seats in the corners. Not like other places I have been..Opera. Did I say that out loud. Sure did! ;oD And for the those who like to partake in adult bevies, the prices are pretty reasonable. $7 Vodka redbull and $4 beers. Pretty typical but not bad at all considering you could easily be charged $10 for a redbull vodka at any other club in the area. :oD Had a great time and I would definitely reccomend it to anyone looking for a good time in Midtown.

4.5 Very pretty club, sunken in dance floor, pretty outdoor patio, tended to restrooms.  Decent cover, esp. for the likes of dancing to Francois K. and Louis Vega (when I went).  Room to dance.  Marquee house / electronica acts / djs. Vibe is pretty good.  Different from an SF house club for sure -- glossier, more refined and self conscious.  People are friendly.  But it's not as "real" as say Shelter or Devotion (well, when it was in SF).  Cielo def. seems to have its devotees.  I saw the same people I saw at Shelter the weekend before and both nights I was here.  A very good thing.
