de a while now I've been hearing about the infamous MJQ's. No lie I was hyped and walking up to the "garage door" entrance i just got more & more excited. There's alot of truth in the variety of party people that seem to frequent the club. My biggest disapointment was that haveing heard about it for so long & reading the reviews here I was expecting more a lounge/club mix with a variety of rooms and sitting areas. So after walking out of the tunnel enterance I was kinda disappointed & while leaving found out that they don't even have open mic battles in agruably the best setup place to host one in Atlanta. Now there's no doubt that I ended up having fun that night. We did it up straight Nyc style. I had mad fun and will definitely be going back soon.

One of the few things that impressed about Earth was how nice the bouncers were and how attentive the hostess was throughout the night.  The upper level floor of the place is a good spread and is quite spacious for a party of 30.  The happy hour deals are subpar but the drink specials (open bar times) are fun and the music is decent. What was not impressive was how jerkish the bouncers were to the folks were NOT on a list.  It was a nightmare for them to have to shell out cover while waiting outside.  It automatically confirmed for me that I won't be coming here unless I'm part of a list of some sort.  Common knowledge for these places but especially for this joint. While the decor is not as "earthy" as I would've assumed, it still had a trendy feel that was impressive especially for the newcomers. The people were a good mix of 20 somethings, primarily Asian, and all seemed to be enjoying themselves.  Thats probably because they were on the list.  Don't forget about the drinks as they can get spendy here, hence all the more reason to hit up the open bar.

Had dinner here with a friend on a saturday night and I am interested in going back with a group of people.  The Buddha Bar has a mysterious presence- dark, lots of candles and special buddha music that they sell at the official Buddha Bar store (which also has yoga tanks with the logo on it...)  The food was part Thai and part Japanese.  I liked it very much.  I ordered the raw tuna as an appetizer and for dinner I chose a Thai dish of shrimp in a hot red curry.  I was not disappointed!  Looking forward to a girl's night there soon...
