by Adelaide Calvent on I met some people there for a happy hour and it didn't disappoint. Situated in a few blocks of new construction, they tried to put in as much old world charm in the new space as possible. The appetizers were good. Especially the little burgers with tasty pickles on them. Of course, a lot of things taste better when it is washed down with a Harp. Anytime I am in an Irish pub, there is only one thing on the menu that interests me... Shepard's Pie. The potato topping was decent and vegetables seemed fresh, but I lost some of the meat in the gravy. Still a solid meal. And I was fortunate enough to wander in on a trivia night. The emcee was perfect with his hefty Irish accent and his witty banter. Oh, and parking was a bit of a pain with an $8 stay in the garage out back...
by Mandy D. on Went on a Tuesday. No entrance fee that night, but damn the drinks were expensive. $10 water downed patron, no thanks. Had other mixed drinks to, just not worth it here. Music sucks too. DJ "takes" request, but doesn't really care. A friend requested a song and a while later, goes back. Again, the person listened to her request, but completely ignored it.
by Alfreda Hausner on Look but don't touch! *slaps hand* Both times we've been here, there have been waitresses in skimpy outfits--a few months ago it was these cocktail outfits and last night it was skanky Santa. Nothing to complain about but oh my! The food was good; we had chicken fingers, cocktail shrimps, BBQ ribs, and chicken shish kabob. (Clearly we're vegetarians). There was also a full selection of drinks. We had a great time bowling 3 games but the price tag was a bit steep--about ~$150 per head for cosmic bowling! Fortunately, the head honchos picked up the tab. (Congrats Alex and Jonathan who got promoted!) Bowlmor Lanes is great fun for after work bonding. Clearly, we weren't the other ones in the room who thought so; also joining us at this Union Square establishment were Merrill Lynch, The Carlyle Group, Mason Capital, and some other private party listed under.....private party.
