I would really prefer to give about 2 1/2 stars. This place could be soooo much better!! It's nice, but not the most outrageously fun place I've been to. Gone here twice with friends, we always have fun, but I think there needs to be a few changes! Watered down, expensive drinks!! $14 for a teeny malibu sunrise that couldn't get my 12 yr old sister warm! I swear that so-called bartender chick couldn't make a good drink to save her life! The concept and decor is really nice, and the bathroom, with its one-way mirrors, are trippy and really cool. Music was alright, although I wish it were more dancable at times. If you're gonna have expensive drinks, make sure I can feel 'em. Big dance floor, give me music to dance to! And for a club that's supposed to be "selective" with the crowd, you could sure re-evaluate some of the guys you let in there, and some of the girls for that matter.

To have the review complete here is some background on Blue Note Milan where I had my first blue note experience. I'm a hobby jazz guitarist, so I'm really into this kind of music. In the same time I like to eat well, and was fortunate enough that I have experience on good food. The music at both places are as good as the performers, and both places have good acoustics by default. So I won't waste my time writing about this. So based on my prior "life-experiences" I have to say that Blue Note Milan is a way-way better jazz club than the "big" NYC one. In Italy you have a great atmosphere, you have space to sit around, you can hear the music and the food (I had fillet mignon) is extremely delicious. In NYC it's the opposite. The space is tiny, you are shoulder to shoulder with foreigners, the food (fillet mignon) is bad as hell. You can only enjoy the music if none of your "unrequested table neighbors" are whispering to each other. Otherwise you can hear every words of theirs and the music is not enjoyable. To give an example how close people are sitting to you, you can even smell their bad mouth if you turn your head the wrong direction. NYC blue note is a place were I won't go any time soon even tho that I'm a big jazz fan. There are other places for quality jazz music if it's solely about the tunes. NYC Blue Note, you should learn your lessons from Milan. Anybody who said that this is the best of the best, has no experience on good dining combined with good music at all. 2 stars, because the acoustics was good and as a respect for the musicians as everything else is crap. And I have no high standards. Ahh yeah, did I mention that the place in NYC is overpriced as hell?

there is no sleeping at bootie. sleeping you ask? the music is so banging and loud and sing-along-at-the-top-of-your-lungs amazing, how could one sleep?! well dna lounge also makes a strong, reasonably priced drink.  down a few too many of those, and sleeping at bootie seems like a good idea. also, resist the urge to drink quickly so you can go dance.  also a bad idea. but before i got so drunk i couldn't keep my eyes open(a total accident, i don't know what happened) i had an amazing time.   i sang, i danced, i waved my hands in the air, tripped over a chair, and watched a love triangle unfold.  i plan to visit bootie on a montly basis.
