by Cordia Cornick on After about an hour at Avenue we headed over to Lavo (same owners, newer spot - guaranteed good time). Bypassed about 500 people outside which always makes the night even better - thanks again to Jason, Andrew, and Christian! Stroll downstairs and the place is GOING OFF. Exactly what we were looking for. Nice crowd, great music, tasty drinks (only $13!) .... and a few perfect hours of fun ... Definitely coming back next time in NYC (unless of course something else is the hot spot of the moment)
by Anna V. on This place is ghetto and horrible. The place has busloads of people piling in and out (it's a common stop for party buses). I don't know why I've been here twice. The people who actually waste their money on the VIP lounges there are stanky skanks. The go-go dancers aren't hot. The people who go there are creepy.

I was dragged here to go for my friends bday party, with 5 attractive girls mind you, reserved table, 2 bottles, and still had to stand in line for 20 minutes while the confused door guy went in and out of the place. I dont do lines, if I'm going to buy the same alcohol they serve at a crappy dive bar, I'd expect better service at a nicer place over a crappy dive bar. Business 101, the guy who spends money comes in right away. Nice indoor decor but if I wanted to rub up against a bunch of sweaty guys, Id get arrested voluntarily and go to county jail. No room to dance, hotter than King Kong's balls, with slightly less alcohol in your drinks than brains in the average head of a girl who comes here. Needless to say after all of those Shenanigans, I stayed 20 minutes before leaving to go back downtown. Shame on you for being less than stellar Mood, you fail.
