Basing this on when there was Banana Split Sundaes: Always awesome line-ups. Can never get wrong with AM dj'ing. The venue is really nice, although the poorly made drinks are definitely overpriced. But I wont complain, I've never had a better LA water anywhere else. And definitely can't go wrong with that free keg on the floor if you get there early enough. Depending on what crowd you're used to to this genre of music (Banana Split Sundaes), the crowd doesn't quite fit the scene. They're pogo'ing to electronic music when that's something you would do at a pop post-punk rock show when you're an adolescent.. I will miss you Banana Split.

Where's this place again? First off, don't get confused. This really is more like in Little Tokyo than Downtown LA. Second, I first parked my car and then walked the wrong way on 1st Street (wasn't alone in that one) figuring it was in the cluster of restaurants and clubs along the main LT drag. Wrong. It's the other way in the middle of nothing in what is basically a bad neighborhood. The location alone loses it a star. Too bad because it's a nice looking place. Good decor. Decent drink selection. Looks like eight beers on tap with the usual favs (Guinness, Pyramid, Stella, etc.). Food selection is mainly pizza and apps although from the looks of the food, it's not a place to dine. Pizza looked really sad and limp like a bad Mama Celeste frozen pie. It's also pretty small and cramp. You can easily have fire code problems here fast. It's also pretty dark but what would you expect for a place called Bordello? Very noisy as a result too. Not really my type of club overall but many people will like it. If they can find it while praying noone breaks into their car.

Dante's is by far one of the coolest restaurant experiences that I have ever had, but the place is ridiculously expensive (at least on the college student budget.) I personally think that they should give a discount on the food because the portions are rather small and you do have to cook your own food.  Isn't there a labor fee that goes into your meals preparation? I think it is 30% off of the original price.  I am going to bring that up the next time I am here. Lots of meat and cheese here too that you can cook in the boiling fondue bucket. Either way, the experience at Dante's is something that may actually be worth the money.  A small pirate ship to eat your food on surrounded by alligators is not an environment too many other restaurants offer.
