I had another great meal in Atlanta at Top Flr.  We sat upstairs and got there a little before the "crowd" so it wasn't loud at all while we were there.  We had good service and asked our server for recommendations and he seemed very knowledgeable.   We had the oysters appetizer and I have the duck confit with parpadelle pasta which was fantastic.  My friend had the hangar steak which she also enjoyed.  The mac and cheese was VERY tasty as was the beets w/chevre and arugala and the asparagus side.  All in all a good meal with great ambience.

Gay Asian Paradise, now located at South of Market... Wow, ok, I used to pass out fliers all over castro to promote this club.  Yes, that was when they first opened.  Now they don't even need my help. Let me just say that this place has changed a lot.  I was one of the original folks who used to attend this club religiously, maybe because I used to be gogo dancer here?  no it wasn't that.  Because it was free for me. HA! Three years ago the clientelle used to be soooo different, that was one of the reasons why I went so much (and I became a gogo boy).  I guess the crowd was different from the Castro crowd.  And my friends couldn't see me shake my booty.  Plus, people could use different ho's once in a while and this was the place... It seems like the everyone and they momma goes to this club nowadays.  The "thing" to do on a Friday esp. if you are a gay asian male or white guys who loves smooth asian men...but I will not let my claw's out and be political here since I am on Rateclub!, a family website. Back to the club.  Two levels, downstairs is mainly house and 2nd level is hip hop.  Once a month there is a thing  called flip the dragon mean they switch the music upstairs and downstairs.  Yes, catchy.  Drink-wise, you have to find the right bartender to make that drink with a extra hump.  Flirt with him a lil and he'll give u a freebie.  Cover charge is a little expensive but I dont have to worry about that (thank you vip card) - but you might care, is 8 dollars a little much? I think so.  But if you don't have a VIP card and you're cheap like me, then go before 10pm.  Who care's if the club doesn't start poppin till 1130pm.  shoot...that's one extra drink for you! Also, the only way to get to the second level is through some steep stairs - so if you are limping or on a wheelchair, you are stuck downstairs.  Not ADA friendly.

i suppose this review is a bit skewed, since last night was the first time i've ever set foot in this san francisco establishment. (the bachelor with chris o'donnell and renee zellweger, anyone? ... anyone?) my roommate molly is a coordinator for aids walk san francisco, and last night they had their team leaders/key volunteers mixer at the starlight room.  im always down for free wine and hor d'oeurves.  (just fyi, im not THAT girl.  i  was actually a key volunteer last year, and will be again this year. so there.) this review is really for harry denton, who is THE MAN.  i was sitting in a booth with 3 of my girls and molly's bf niko, and harry came over to chat with us.  we think he took a liking to niko, because next thing we know, harry brought over a round of free shots! and oops, he brought over one too many, so he poured the extra shot into niko's glass! and then... ANOTHER ROUND!  and oops, ANOTHER EXTRA SHOT?  he didn't mean to, he swore.  and in it went into niko's glass! hilarious!  this man is such a character!  we definitely enjoyed his company - he is FUNNY - and hospitality.  finally, he left us girls with 2 VIP passes each, and of course, 8 VIP passes for niko. cheers to you, harry denton! :)
