by Ags P. on Little Pedro...te quiero mucho...RIP. Went out with some friends, and a friend suggested a "place" on 1st and Vignes. First and Vignes? That's the edge of downtown, and the home of my favorite FORMER happy hour place - Little Pedro's. I knew it was closed, but didn't know it's now a bar called Bordello's. We get there, and there's no cover, which i sawesome. We go inside...there's a live band..nice. Ummm, however I wasn't too much into the band. They were like an older version of the Jonas Brothers. Just wasn't my thing. After the band performed, that's when the majority of the people left! I guess they were all band groupies? My friends and I hung out for a little while longer, just to soak up the vibe, which wasn't much. I asked the bartender, "What's the name of this place." He replied and said, "Bordello's. You know, like the whore house?!" Ummm okay, thanks, buddy. As the evening was nearing to a close, and I was ready to walk out and grab a cab, some random dude comes up to me and says, "Watch out, my friend has been flashing people." I look over, and there's his friend...with a shirt on, and flashes me, showing his white undershirt. I cracked up. Half, because I seriously thought it was funny, and half because I can't believe I fell for that. So we ended up talking to each other for a bit. He's a cute guy...we chatted...and then he kissed my cheek and left. So all in all...if it hadn't been that cute guy who spoke to me for 10 minutes, Bordello's would have had less stars. *sigh*
by Ellen L. on hecks yea!!! i'm way totally a big fan of this place. (shh don't tell because it's a bit embarassing) music: top 40 & boston bar faves (Bon Jovi) ps, don't try to meet ppl here. pps, expect 10 bachelorette parties every nite you're there.

I went with a group of 12, and aside from the fact that we had told the staff from the moment that we walked in that our group of 20 had dwindleddown to 12, they STILL wanted to charge us for 20 people's worth of empanadas, cheese, ham, grapes and Sangria. The manager's excuse was that he had ordered this food "especially" for 20 people and that it would go bad. Even after having a lengthy discussion with the manager, he would only give us 15% off, which was equivalent to 17 people, and then still tried to charge us a 20% gratuity off the total for 20 with tax. INCREDIBLE. We paid over $700 for some light appetizers and sangria. I will never go there again for a group (not ne you reserve in advance, if you ever want to do that, just show up, they'll find a way to seat you and they can't SCREW you with advanced reservation policies). Overall, not worth it. Too bad, b/c the food isn't half-bad.
