by Christopher L. on 3.5 Service was friendly, if a little forgetful at times due to the happy hour rush. I have high accolades for the menu which accompanied the event I attended here - an excellent showcase of some of the local farm goods from around town! Cauliflower au Gratin was tasty and surprisingly rich for crudites. Beef Tongue Turrine was a subtle snack and went well with the aforementioned. We were glad we ordered the Honey Fried Chicken and Winter Lettuce salad (candied bacon YEEEEEEEEEAH buddy) for Round 2. Also got two cocktails which I wish we'd held off on (off on, off on, is that weird? A little?) They were both mixed with herbs and, I'm sure to a an experienced drinker, would have been lovely. Me, I'd have taken another chicken leg any day! Beautiful establishment, btw =]
by Libby R. on When I was a little girl, I wanted to be famous. I wanted to win an Academy Award and pose for magazines and be on Letterman and get lots of cool clothes and acclaim. And yeah, I wanted to be rich enough to stay at fancy, uber cool hotels and feel all pampered. But I grew up, and decided that the trade off for such fame is not worth the effort and not all it was cracked up to be. And neither is the Roosevelt Hotel. Look, the lobby is fucking awesome. The pool is beautiful. The staff is wonderfully polite and helpful (especially Marie, who checked me in and was extremely helpful and friendly). I love 25 Degrees and will return to sample more from the menu... But when I walked into our "x" hundred dollars a night suite the evening of rateclubs Prom LA, I realized that this place, like the fame of those who stay there, was not all it was cracked up to be. I mean there are perks: The view from the "living room" was fantastic The two flat screen TVs were great The bed was very comfortable The windows crack open There is a fridge It was relatively spacious The lobby/pool/25 degrees But the drawbacks: The bathroom was laughably small (more like rotflmfao) The shower had a strange screen/door that was odd to operate The bathroom had ONE ROLL of Toilet Paper The stuff looked a bit rundown The art, though trendy, was a tad off putting And just like the idea of being famous turned out to be "not worth it" to me, so stands true for paying a crazy amount of money to stay at the Roosevelt, which, though it is not a bad place to stay, it's not worth half of my rent to stay there for the night when there are perfectly good beds in far cheaper places to be slept in. I leave the Roosevelt to the famous people...
by Sherise Berez on Came here to party last night. There was plenty of street parking nearby. We got there early and didnt wait in line that long and got in for free b/c we were on glist. They dont seem to hold up the lines like they do in LA. Extra star for that. The inside was nicely decorated. There were two floors. The music was great. It was asian night. I noticed that the clubbers here dont dress up as much as they do in Hollywood and arent as good looking. Keep up the good work Visionshock!
