Came here to try the Mediterranean tapas and I was not impressed! Most of them are in the "teens" price range: $13-$17 for tiny bites, are you kidding me? The price would be justified if it tasted good! The food is pretty average, taste like dishes I've had in other Mediterranean restaurants I've been to. The difference is you're paying twice as much for "bites", where as you're getting real filling dishes at other places. I tried: Lamb and Fig Tagine ($15), Fried Sumac-Dusted Calamari, Red Onions and Lemons with Aioli ($10), Grilled Hanger Steak with Sautéed Spinach and Harissa Sauce ($14). Don't be fooled by the fancy desciptions, it's not worth it! Btw, bathroom need better up keeping, thanks :)

This place is nice and balanced. You walk in and you think you're either in Beast's castle, then you head down some stairs, around a corner, and then you're at that pool party you see in every TV show. And guess what. Gaston showed up, and brought all his buddies. Looks like Beast moved out, and Belle was replaced by about 100 different kinds of women, from super models to Beverly Hills cougars. The pool is open to the public so if you're trying to do all the cheap but fabulous things that LA has to offer, this should definitely be on your list. I suggest Saturday, no matter what time. You may have to wait, but will eventually get a nice spot to park your towel. The pool closes at 8pm, but the bar stays open, and there'll definitely be some fun to have.

I'm no architect, but I estimate you could fit about three or four normal - sized clubs inside the enormous Compound. This place is MAMMOTH. There are advantages to a club this size: each room is unique, so if you don't like the vibe or music in one spot, you can easily relocate. There are a number of rooms with cozy couches and others with mesmerizing music and wide spaces to dance. The downside is the challenge to keep track of your friends and that cute guy across the room with whom you shared an intimate moment (sigh). Keep in mind that someone going to "the bar" has entered infinity and may never be seen again. You might spend the night solo hunting your friends, which isn't so pleasant. Or perhaps you will meet some friendly strangers. A variety of people frequent this club: locals, people traveling, college and grad students, younger and older professionals, etc. If you have the chance to speak with someone over the spinning music, you might have an interesting conversation. Remember this place is expensive - $10-$20 to enter, and a mixed drink is at least $8. If you are willing to spend the money and aren't intimidated by large venues and crowds, you are likely to have a great time.
