by Elda Vener on Eek! Methinks not!!! Sooo maybe I went on the wrong night, but it was a Friday night...which is the weekend. But maybe this club only jumps on Saturday nights...IDK! I know some clubs don't start jumpin until later at night but we went a little after 12AM which is later. This is definitely not where it was at! There was a small crowd, not medium or large but small. And is there another part to this club? We were in the bottom in what seemed like a basement, there has to be another part, this can't be it. I'm hoping there is more to this club and this was the only section open because it was borderline dead. I'm glad we didn't pay to get in here...and the DJ sucked. He was on some grown & sexy type music, I can hear that in my car or while I'm chillin at home. I wanna dance, shake my a** and have fun, couldn't do that in here to the music he was playing. Oh and the guys definitely WERE NOT, I REPEAT WERE NOT CUTE! Omg I didn't even see one decent looking one. We were club hopping that night so we left and went right over to Opera, had a better time there. Won't be returning to Sutra!
by Tijuana Vrieze on I've been buying music at Repo as long as I've been walking on South Street. It makes for a great neighboring store to Retrospect, which in turn is great neighboring store to Tattooed Mom's. Do you just need, NEED a PBR, an undersized shirt from someone's old soccer team, and the new Mogwai album (on vinyl)? Then South Street between 5th and 6th is the place to be! People make a big deal out of their vinyl selection (it's still the best place to find contemporary stuff), but their CD and DVD selection is stellar. The staff is helpful, the place is well stocked with postcards and fliers for upcoming events, and the store is small enough for you to make decent small talk with fellow customers. My favorite part? The music they play is always good, and if you sheepishly ask what they're playing, they won't give you the typical Record Store Clerk sneer. Then you can buy the album, play it for your friends, and say, "Oh, you've never heard of Bay Ridge Rainbow Party? I've been listening to them for years."
by Christi S. on I'd rate this club fairly well. It's located inside the Hollywood & Highlands shopping in Hollywood. Easy to find, parking was a bit tough, so i would definately recommend parking in their garage and getting it validated before you leave! We only had to pay $5 total for the entire night parking. Atmosphere: Ethnically mixed crowd. I went there 9/15 (last week). Age ranging 21-50. As for guestlist I used http://www.clubplanet.comand it was only $10. The ratio of guys:girls was 1:10. Definately waay more estrogen than testosterone! Most of the girls were out on the dance floor doing their thing while the guys were "wallflowers". Music: Top 40's, Hip Hop, R&B. They had another room in the back area where people were doing some break dancing. The baclony area was cool only because you can get fresh air even if there are smokers around you. Recommendation: Now that I've seen this club and checked it out, I would go back after I've checked out the other clubs in the area.
