by Krys T. on There are few things better in my life than spending a night with handsome men in cowboy hats who want to lead me around a dance floor. And, I said men plural because the night I was in Dallas Nightclub recently, it seemed like handsome had exploded all over the place - FTW! Kelly S - ATX CM extraordinaire led a group of out-of-towners on a whirlwind around Austin and this was the first place we stopped. We waltzed in and headed over to the bar for the first round of drinks. Everything from beer to gin, and lots of it, please! We've gotta get these non-Texans on the floor! So, a couple of drinks later, some bats of the (fake)eyelashes, we're all dancing about and having a great time. The drinks flow and flow, the music gets your hips swinging, and the crowd is fun and ready to mingle. Trifecta.
by Neal Loughner on Stephen Starr really knows how to create a unique atmosphere and modern dining experience. Sure, it's slightly overdone and upscale but like many have said before me, it's a guilty pleasure. Sure, they (the restaraunt) are guilty of many "fusion" dishes but I don't go here to eat.. I go to drink. This spot is just a glorified martini bar with ambiance and colorful presentation. Somehow it comes off more charming than obnoxious. Same can't be said for the majority of the people you would find in there though. However, the service is always fantastic and the employees just seem happy to be there. The alcoholic beverages are diverse and creative. If you are looking for a trendy social spot with some flash to it, the Continental Midtown is one up above the rest.
by Janine P. on So almost every night there's something great happening at the gallery. I've hit the spot several times with some good peeps and we all had a wonderful time! Mind you a few alcoholic beverages may have been consumed but the aura of the place was pretty cool. A lot of great music and people who are friendly to chat up with. Granted you have to fit the "vibe" (whatever that means) just keep in mind your in the city, around emo's and artists!
