Went on a Saturday night for my birthday weekend, and let me tell you...the crowd of boys are UGLY! and by boys...I mean OLD MEN. There's something terribly wrong when my group of homeboys are considered gorgeous compared to these guys here. I heard it was better on Fridays though...maybe I'll give it a go then....

I love Kat's! I go every friday after work. It's a great place to have a drink, listen to good music and meet new people. The owner (Kat) makes you feel like your part of the family as soon as you walk in. If you looking for a good place to chill out instead of sitting in traffic Kat's is the place to go, you'll love it!

Last night, Jason K. and I rocked out to the Hold Steady while simultaneously hanging out with Eddie Argos from Art Brut. Eddie was FRIENDLY and TALKATIVE and AWESOME and told us in his glorious British accent all about how his FAVORITE BANDS are the Hold Steady and the Mountain Goats and how they all got to play together on his birthday and that it was the BEST DAY OF HIS LIFE! LOOK AT US! WE FORMED A BAND! I'VE SEEN HER NAKED - TWICE!! I digress. It was awesome hanging out with Eddie, and the show itself rocked my plum socks off. But, the venue itself - it ain't bad, I guess. I wish the drinks were stronger and/or that they had beer on tap. I wish they'd stick to the hip hop/DJ/electronica circuit. I wish the club was in a safer part of town. Wish wish wish. Like I said, it ain't bad. I'd rather be at one of San Francisco's 7,000 other music venues (give or take a few hundred, I'm not sure). But, when a show like Art Brut opening for the Hold Steady is announced, I'm not going to opt out just because it's at the Mezzanine. I'll just suck it up, get drunk somewhere else beforehand, and enjoy the show.
