by Mai L. on This has to be the most unique bar/cafe I have ever been too. If you need coffee and a good place to study, you can come here. They have great wi fi and plenty of tables where u can read/study. If you need to unwind after a long day at work and need a drink or two you can come here.If you love champagne, definitely come here....they have a great selection and i love the champagne cocktails. If you just want to relax and socialize with friends, you can come here. The set up looks just like a cafe. But, when you go up to order your drink....there is an extensive list of alcoholic beverages that you can order. And they also serve food and really good desserts. I really like the ambiance of Sugar Cafe. I like the lighting, the artwork, and the laid back atmosphere. It attracts a diverse crowd. This is definitely one of my favorite spots in sf after a long day at work.
by Bobbi Tensley on These other reviewers probably work at the lounge!!! I've been to many similar clubs/lounges and have never been treated the way myself and my friends were. We were a large group celebrating three girls birthdays, What was promised was an open bar from 10-11pm since we were so many people coming in. What we got was constant excuses from the doormen that the lounge wasn't ready yet/not open yet. We walked around the corner and came back at 10:15, huge line at the door. We speak to the doorman and essentially get the cold shoulder/run around story. After standing in line in the rain and arguing with the promoter and doormen for half an hour we ended up just leaving. NOT WORTH GIVING YOUR MONEY TO THIS PLACE!!! Many nicer environments with friendly staff!!!
