by Shawn M. on Dang, everyone likes this place. It's a shock that Dot has anything like it. I have most recently had the best times there. Though the menu does not change...the staff is really great, they know what they are doing, and doin it with a smile. Mind you it is not giant plates, and bring a fat wallet cause the bill can get up there. As other reviews have stated, the food is good but it's not like there are lines to get in. There is no competition for American food in Dorchester. Went back for brunch NBD, my Croque Monsieur was dry and more like a ham sandwich for $13? Can't remember cause it's not the menu on line in the restautrant, service was all over the place, the gal was a bit gruff, we had to ask for ketchup and the toast was served dry on my friends plates with no butter in site, or jelly or anything. It wasn't busy for good reason. It's really not enough to be gay, the food should be better...so close and yet so far...some sit in Dorchester and settle. Did I mention the over cooked omlette? Shit, oh good drinks! OK went back for dinner and it was good. Maybe brunch isn't their thing. It's still too expensive but it's really a bar.

I have been to this club once before but this particular time, me and my girls were meeting some guy friends up there and they order some wings!!! ( I can just taste the wings, it was heavenly) The wings kept on coming, they were so good!! Now, I had a few drinks.....and we all know that when you drink and eat the food may taste a lot better!! But I will definitely go back...just to have the wings!!!
by Prince Espenscheid on I've been to Nikki's Beach Club 3 times and it is the most upscale nightclub that I've found in NYC. My husband and I usually go to nightclubs when we have people visiting from out of town and so maybe we aren't looking for the same things as single clubbers... what do we want? Space to dance to great music, upscale ambience to sit and have drinks and a pleasant, fun and hip crowd. Nikki's has it all! The place has two floors. The main floor has that foggy lighting with an ascending area of terrace-seating of white leather & oversized pillows . The only reason I will not give Nikki's 5 stars is because when I was there with my two girlfriends sitting in the leather seating area for an hour or so and we left for the restroom, when we returned, we were told that the same exact spot we were sitting in just minutes before (in fact the entire "empty" leather seating area) was now suddenly reserved and we were not allowed to sit anywhere..... (I'm quite certain Ben Franklin could have retained the seat) but we were all a bit miffed since the guy was needlessly rude about it. Upstairs has a mattress on the floor with big pillows to congregate for drinks....quite fun to make your own party! I haven't done the dinner but would like to try that in the future.
