by Michael K. on I was there last week and I think there were instant mashed potatoes -- not real potatoes -- with chicken on a brick. I couldn't believe it. I used to love dBar. I hope I was wrong. Gordon Ramsey would have lost his mind if he tasted those fake mashed potatoes.
by Erna Hennighausen on They are definately geared toward a dance club and I am looking forward to going back. We were there for the Hubba Hubba Review and it was awesome. The bar is convenient, fast and they are wise enough to put Martinis in cups so you can actually check out the show and enjoy your drinks. The dance floor is a good size and the stage is great. There is not a bad view in the house. It's in a good area, parking's decent and there is a food joint next door with an ATM so if the DNA has any technology issues there is cash close by. Recently they were forced to close for no good reason but it sounds like they made use of the time to give the place a face lift. I'm really looking forward to the next show out there.
by Deeann Recinos on GET IT WHILE IT'S HOTT: Justin's Hot Buttered Rum! Last night a DJ saved my life...and so did a bartender (wow, that is cheesay). Nah, for real, Justin served up a mean Hot Buttered Rum that he guaranteed would be worth the wait. Although I flipped out on that, he remained humble about his concoction and let me know that I too, could make myself one at home if I just looked up a recipe. Regardless, that was good shit and one of the best surprises for a drink I've had in a long time. Other than that, go to KoKo on the 4th Sat of the month to HEAR THE SOUNDS crew get down on the boogie-funk-soul tip...not to be missed, because other than a choice folks in the bay (ahem, sweaterfunk @ lipo lounge), who else is gonna serve up top shelf boogie?
