My date and I recently ventured out to SAMBUCA this past weekend on a Saturday evening. With a 7:30 reservation, we were able to beat the crowd and get optimal seating near the band. From start to finish everything about this place was good: I had the shrimp medley and it was awesome. The fried cheesecake dessert was grand as well. After dining we danced the rest of the evening to the sounds of the live jazz band who played everything from Anita Baker to Phil Collins to Marvin Gaye. They even did a tribute to Michael Jackson. The only drawback to this place is that they aren't good about reservation times. They are trying to push you out of there as soon as you're done eating. They should honor 2 hr windows or something to better serve their patrons. The interior decor is beautiful and intimate but this isn't the place for a private date. The seating is so close together that there's no privacy. Even still, the pros outweigh the cons and I look forward to many more evenings at SAMBUCA :-)

Soooooo....this review is for the nightclub level of the kress....and this club I really don't think i will go back to..... It is sad really because we all were so excited to check this place out, but the nightclub level was small, overcrowded, and the music was really not so great... We got a table here, and our waitress was mad right off the start because we didn't want to add on an extra charge to get red bull at our table. I mean come on!! We were already paying all of this money to get table service at the club, you could be a little nicer to us!!! Cold shoulder off the top is not a good way to start... Oh ya and you have to enter for the nightclub from the back of the club! So don't waste your time waiting in the front like a normal person would do....don't ask me why, i have no idea. But the decor inside the nightclub level is blah. Looked kind of cheap to me. And the music....who plays techno rock to dance to in a trendy hollywood club?? No one I was with really knew how to dance to any of it, so this place definitely needs a new DJ ASAP. And to top off this place, one of the workers here was carrying a box across the club to the bar on the other side, and he WHACKED me upside my head with the box walking by and didn't even notice!!! I was pissed, and by the time I realized what happened, he was gone. But man, that alone makes me not want to come back here..... So ya...Kress....not what it is hyped up to be. But if you get drunk enough here then you can just ignore the details and dance to whatever music is in your head heh.

I have a love/hate relationship with this place. I have been here on a couple of nights and every experience has been different in itself. I think it might be due to the fact that this place is open all night and that is invitation for tweekers, trannys, strippers, cons and well, people who love to party of course. The inside is amazing, the music flows very well... I love the cute little fireplace.  There are some nights in here where it is pure sketch and you are waiting for the cops to bust in and to throw your hands up... there are other nights here where it is seemingly like a good party. I've heard Fag Fridays and the T-Dances on Sunday are legendary but have never been able to try either. I would only go here if you really want to or have the money to blow on the ridiculously expensive cover of $20.
