If you've ever driven on 85 just inside of Spaghetti Junction, I'm sure you've noticed the huge eyesore that is Mykonos Taverna.  I wonder how expensive their electric bill is with all that neon.  Anyway, the restaurant is close to my office so I thought I'd give it a whirl. I'm a vegetarian so I was pleased to find several vegetarian options on the menu.  I got some sort of grilled veggie wrap.  It was tasty, but it had way too much feta cheese.  And I like feta.  My husband got a large salad and added gyro meat.  They aren't kidding when they say it's a large salad.  Holy crap, this was huge.  We couldn't even fit the leftovers into a to-go box and my husband is usually a clear your plate type of eater. All in all, the food was okay.  It wasn't great but it wasn't bad either.  There was just a lot of it so be prepared to eat leftovers for days.  Some of my co-workers had issues with slow service, but I thought it was fine. I definitely wouldn't seek this restaurant out if I didn't work nearby but it wasn't bad.

So I was in the mood for some good Greek, but was a little hesitant base on the mixed reviews.   It didnt seem like the place was too expensive, so we decided to give it a shot.  We started off with a couple of appetizers and a few bottles of Mythos beer.  The Saganaki covered in tomato sauce and mushrooms was devine.  Next up was the grilled squid.  It too was delicious..light, simple, subtle.  After another round of Mythos, it was time for the main event.  I went with the Gyyro, and my wife went with the Lamb Souvlaki.  Both we delicious, although I would give a slight nod to the Gyro, which was enormous. The only negatives I could come up with would be in regard to the atmosphere.  We were there on a Saturday night around 7:30pm and there was no Greek music playing.  Also, the lights were turned up to extra bright, and it might have been a little too kid friendly for my taste. All in all, a good value for all we ate and drank $60 including tip.  We will be back.
