Probably my favorite taco place in SF. I say you keep it simple and to the point. You came for tacos...GET the tacos!. Now, I am sure that there are other great items on the menu , I just haven't tried them. Back to the tacos... Of course you'll have to get them Nick's way. Dear Nick ( who ever you are)... I say thank you!. I've had the steak, the chicken and the pescado and let me tell you, they are delicious. Get them "Nick's" way and you'll get the perfect amount of guac and jack cheese. With a medium horchata, you are in for a treat. The horchata was a little warm, but perfect amount of cinnamon and not too sweet. Of course the decor of the place is also great. Great interior design with lots of red and silver. The place turns into club Rouge at night. If you can get a booth, sit in a booth. Cheek out the pics. Whenever I am on Polk at., I am lobbying that we go to Nick's Crispy Tacos.

In the throes of legality, yes I have found myself inside these walls with less and less frequency. But all that dim orange glow does evoke some sense of home from me; though it might be the waitresses' cankles and chubby upper arms, or the smell of stale beer and cigarette smoke that remind me of my Grandmother's basement.

MOST MISLEADING PLACE I'VE EVER BEEN! The three times I called throughout the week, I got inconsistent answers about the time and prices of Salsa classes. The first bartender was offended that I even ask such a dumb question; apparently she never got the message the club offers classes as it says online. 2/3 bartenders said there were classes Tue/Fri for $5 at 8pm. I got there early. I was charged $10 instead of $5 and lady at the door says classes were already starting so I just went with it. After half an hour and asking 3 different staff members, one said there were no classes, the other two said it started at 8:30...I could see I was not the only one waiting for classes and no one, including the owner knew where the teacher was. The lady at the door changed her answer about the class starting time when I asked her at 8:45pm. By the time it had passed 9PM (the time classes were supposed to be done), everyone kept saying the classes were starting, though no one knew when. I asked for a refund since the there was obviously no salsa class and the owner or the lady charging covers wouldn't give me any money back.
