I love this place for a random beer or two after work.  Good burgers and hawaiian chicken sandwich also.  It's lively without ever being too loud (at least on weekdays). Barstaff is solid, ask for Matt.  He'll take good care of you.

This place is cool, for what it is. A little semi-dance spot in a hip area. Drink prices and variety were the norm. The music was a throw back which to me is fun to dance to for about 2 or 3 songs. But everybody in there is looking to have a good time and doing they're own thing. Which is better than going to a super "hip" club where everyone is too cool to dance and just playing the wall mean mugging each other, while you wonder: "I paid a cover for this?" Nice ratio, I like the patio, and the door man was cool. Just step your hip hop, game up.

Second the "favorite spot for live music in SF" comments. Saw an amazing Clem Snide show here a few weeks back. My suggestion: Go to "Olives" around the corner for a drink or a bit to eat before the show. 1/2 block away so you can drink/eat right up until showtime...
