The Phoenix is one of the best places to hear electronic music in Boston. The sound here is perfectly suited to the room. When the DJ knows what he or she is doing, you'll be able to have a conversation without yelling but still feel your guts shaking from the amazing bass. If you like electronic music and dancing BY FAR the best night to go is Thursdays for Elements. It is easily one of the best club nights in Boston. I say that because the music is always good, there is always a nice, relaxed vibe there, and it has none of the meat-market vibe of Fridays and Saturdays.

This place has a great ambiance.  The bar staff are really cool.  Good for dancing.  I've had many good moments at the 2.  The only downside is the location.

Came here on a weekend night with my boyfriend after a lovely dinner at Fleur De Lys. We were tourists, visiting San Francisco for the first time and happened to see an ad in a local tourist mag. The line to get in was long, the cover was high. The view was spectacular, but difficult to actually see out the windows since it was pretty crowded. We had to wait to get a seat somewhere since HALF (yes I said half) of the tables had a "reserved" sign on them. (Do any of you Rateclubers know what that's about anyway? Do tell! I'd love to know why they would "reserve" half the tables and keep them unoccupied all night?! Is it for Harry Denton's ghost and his invisible minions or something?) The drinks were very much overpriced, but I suppose that's a given for a night spot trying to be upscale. I think most people there were tourists. I noticed a bunch of obviously under-21 girls drinking and giggling... Not really my scene, but the dancing was great! I'm giving it a 3 because my boyfriend and I really had a fun time on the dance floor after we had a few drinks (well... maybe more than a few). I think the fact that it was a teeny tiny dance floor made it funny. (Maybe if I hadn't had those drinks it wouldn't have been. Heh.)
