Major warning. The valet service here is deplorable! As many of you know, one of the policies of Ecco is hybrid cars park for free. But trying telling the valets that! I came up in my Prius, asked the valet about the parking deal just to be on the safe side (it's normally 10 bucks) and he starts rattling off that it's not free but only 15% off. Huh? I go to the door and the girl there informs me, 'What is he talking about? Of course it's free!". The valets work independently from Ecco so be very careful or they will try to dupe you. Wait, it gets worse. I leave around 11:15 and a friend of mine leaves about the same time. So we both give the valet our claim tickets and then we wait. And wait. And wait. About 15 minutes in, my friends asks the valet what's taking so long and he replies, 'We actually brought out your car but you didn't see it so we took it back". What the?? I'm no fan of valets but I've never heard such a story like this. Total lie. About 30 minutes in we're fuming. Even Ecco's GM comes out to talk to us. We don't blame him. It's not his valet company. It's not really his fault. But we do explain the situation. Finally a few minutes later, my friend gets her car and then I get mine a few minutes after that. I could've parked six blocks away on the street and driven off sooner. No wonder I can't stand valets. As for the club itself, it's pretty nice, although small. There's no food so don't come on an empty stomach. The music mix is pretty good. A couple of tired re-treads but for the most part, I dug it. Of course, it's too loud and the place, like most LA clubs, is too small. I didn't drink anything mainly because I was driving but also because i read the reviews here about the drinks and the gratuity slapped onto the bill. Plus I think the beer choices were limited to Stella, Heineken, Amstel and Corona. All in bottles. I'd rather walk over to BoHo or drive to Blue Palms to get what I really want on draft. The club is definitely very Hollywood chic cool but at the same time it tells me why I stopped going to clubs like this a long, long time ago.

My first meal in Austin. My coworker and I decided to grab a quick bite. Before this, my only experience of brisket was at the Cal dining commons. The brisket there was very dry and smothered in cheap BBQ sauce, eck! So I was a bit stumped when everyone was ordering the brisket sandwich. So, I reluctantly got the brisket sandwich. When I sunk my teeth in the juicy, tender meat with the flavorful sauce, I thought, "goodness gracious, this is not brisket!" Indeed, I did not know what brisket was until that moment. I've tried their combo plate too and it's a winner. Anyone ever notice that most BBQ sauces have 0g of fat per serving but Salt Lick sauce has like 18g of fat per serving?

There is more Silicon at this pool than an Intel Factory.
