A good spot for the unofficial rateclubs after-after-party.  The DJ was mixing some good sounds.  It was loud, and had a good ambience.  It was busy, but I could still grab a seat and have room to drink.  There were two levels, and the interior decor was actually interesting.  Drinks were cheap. 3.5 stars

We went on a Thursday night after we drove past Mansion and saw that the crowd there was LAAAAME. Despite the crazy line at the door, they basically unhooked the red rope for us as we were getting out of the cab. (We were well-dressed mid to late 30somethings, so blowing past a bunch of 20 year olds was actually rather amusing.) The good ~ Definitely a 20something crowd, and lots of skin showing, but the bottle service girls were all stunning and the DJ was hooking up good trance/hip hop beats-- rivalling the better clubs in Vegas (Tryst, XS JET, etc). We greased the bartender a few bucks when we ordered our first round and were able to get drinks from there on out just by looking at him. A couple of NCAA ballers walked in later on... which kept it interesting. The bad ~ There is no designated dance floor at SET, which is an interesting concept - they encourage you to jump on top of anything you'd like and dance. At one point a young girl got on top of the bar where we were ordering drinks and started dancing right on top of my vodka tonic. The bartender said nothing to her and instead moved my drink over to another spot. The only reason I didn't like the no-dance floor concept is because I was continually bumped into by people walking past us as we were trying to dance, which was annoying. I wasn't ballsy enough to get on top of anything in my mindress and shake my ass (no Paris Hilton-esque star-covered crotch shots for me)-- so had I been, this might have been a plus, not a minus. I won't mention that the guys working the door were pretty much assholes, because that is typical of any good club. Overall, a good experience and probably the best spot we could have ended up on a Thursday night.

Just okay. Went with some friends because one of them claims this is "the only chinese place" he'll eat. Too pricey and crab rangoo (sp?) wasn't quite right. I'd be just as happy with some greasy chinese take out place we have all over this city.
