by Melva Villapando on Don't do it. I try really hard to be open-minded about people's food preferences. But I just can't understand why people like Trudy's so much. I mean, if my only criteria were that I wanted a place where I could drink, maybe sit on a patio, and fill up on chips and salsa, OK. Although there are still many other places where I would much rather do this - better atmosphere, better chips, better salsa, better drinks, better...well, everything. And really? The food is just bad. And totally overpriced. Perhaps this is partly due to my aversion to Tex Mex, but my meals here always seem mushy and carelessly thrown together in a big sloppy mess, as if the chef is hung over and making food for his roommate (whom he happens to hate). Am I being too harsh? Probably. Have I mentioned yet that I don't think you should go? Yeah. Don't.

Come to Vertigo if you want to get dance your ass off, drink yourself into a stupor, or smoke inside. I have only been here on the last stop on a pub crawl and on a drunken Wed. But both times I recall the red lit bar and plentiful disco balls surrounding my head on the dance floor. My head was spinning from the tequila and the smoke, but it did not prevent me from getting down and belting out the lyrics to every song.
by stephy s. on 1 star, 2 stars?! Was I in a different club last night than the rest of you? I thought this place was positively charming and super cool. Kind of reminded me of a HUGE loft if you actually had the money to do one right. The open stairs that lead to the upstairs bar were a nice touch. The very airy feeling of the place was great as well. The bartenders all very hot and very nice and pour a Bellvedere like they mean it. The cute hostess was friendly and smiled and the patrons were all smiley and cool as well. What isn't to like here? I didn't try the food, only a few cocktails but I had absolutely no problems with my experience here and would definitely go back. Maybe I went on a good night, who knows :) The only problem I had was with the valet. It's $10 and the guy doesn't even park your car? How is that valet. Not that I like strange seat shiftin fools in my ride, but then just say parking, don't say Valet.
