by Ming N. on Love the burger, love the atmosphere, and being going back almost every other week for their burger! The Chop House Burger was recognized as #12 in Texas monthly. It is definitely good, consistent, but expensive ($9). 10 of mine co-workers (all male) tried it and they all loved it, only complain about the price and some didn't like skinny fries. The cold slaw is good but non-traditional, blue cheese and walnut are part of the ingredients. I wish they would list the ingredients in the menu. Friday's special Fish and Chip might be a miss for us. The chip was good, yet the fish packed good amount of oil in the batter that neither me or my husband can stand. The dish comes with vinegar (thank god!!) and cold slaw (another good call!!). We both were eating 1 part fish and 3 part cold slaw, or I just break the batter (after my first couple tries) and start eating the fish only. After talking to a co-worker about the oil in the fish, he mentioned, they might have the same oil temperature for all their fried stuffs, which is not hot enough for the fish and that will definitely cost to pack more oil than fries and the potato chips. Good point! Just went there for Chicken Fried Tenderloin (not Rib eye as some other reviews were saying). Rib eye probably would be much better. It was tough to cut with a steak knife and hard to chew. The flavor was good, but it didn't hit the spot. I need to go Texas land and cattle for their chicken fried steak! :P

It's in the middle of no-man's land in the heart of the Tenderloin, but that kind of adds points to it, for me...I feel like it helps keep away some of the college kids or Marina-types who might otherwise wander in if it were closer to say, Ruby Skye. I've had some great nights dancing here and I like how it's kind of small and intimate. The bar area upstairs doesn't leave much room to stand around and socialize, but I go there for the music and some late night drunken debauchery and ass-shaking, so this is my kind of place. Also, the interior has a lot of brick and red lighting, which I also like a lot. Just a word to any ladies who might want to check it out and haven't been here before: if you're going to dress skimpy / wear a short skirt, etc., take a cab here and don't spend any time outside by yourself on the street. There are plenty of bar patrons outside normally, plus a door guy, but there are plenty of pimps and dirtbags potentially lurking around.
by Jennifer W. on Strolled up to Delux today shortly before 7pm and was pleasantly surprised to see some empty tables on a Friday night. My friend & I decided to forgo the 5 minute wait to sit inside (because I was THAT hungry) and were seated right away on the patio. Yes, it was hot as hell and the misters didn't do much, but I just needed to be fed ASAP! I had my usual (Delux burger), my friend had the turkey burger and we shared an order of sweet potato fries. I'm really glad he got the turkey burger because I've always wanted to try it, but was always hesitant to order it in case it sucked. It actually turned out to be really good! I'll probably order it the next time I'm there. And the sweet potato fries are so nice & crispy!!! I almost didn't order them because the past several times (last year) the fries were limp (even when I requested them to be well-done/crispy). I guess they finally got a clue and now I heart their fries.. yummy! Our waitress, Jessica, was great. She was really helpful, friendly and always made sure our drinks were topped off.
