by Wayne H. on Once hosted such big names as Tiesto, Vanguard was something of a legend. Special engagements aside, it is still one of the premier hip hop clubs in Hollywood. The size of the venue is just above intimate; it encompasses the core dance floor area, a loungey enclave to its south, and a generous outdoor cabana area to its north accessible only by two stairwells. As I recall, there are only three main bars and most people crowd towards the one in the main dancefloor. The price of cocktails is reasonable for Hollywood standards, and the top-shelf stuff is usually in stock. Parking is valet only; street parking in the immediate area is difficult to find. Separate self-park lots are located in the rear of the property. It is also worth noting that the bar staff and security personnel are professional and courteous.
by Kayisha T. on I've been here three times. The last time I was there Fabulous was in the house and VIP let us in. Sunday-Grown n Sexy like crowd but gettin duked in the ass by a tricep-bicep frat dude was grown but not sexy. Peace
by Kathi Harker on I thought it was a very well set up venue with good sound, a well positioned bar, and a nice stage setup. The hall itself is kind of cool, if rather unspectacular. I think you could go much wronger in this city in terms of a music venue. The drinks are overpriced- obviously. but the bartenders seemed to be pretty friendly. I mean, I haven't been to here in any other form than a concert, so I suppose my review can only go so far. Pretty good place, overall.
