by Katie W. on I love this place for weekend brunch. Like another reviewer said, it feels more like a Vegas nightclub than it does a brunch restaurant, but is still welcoming and homey. Unlimited mimosas make for a very fun time, and the atmosphere is different and really enjoyable. The biscuits and potatoes are to-die-for. Plan to arrive early for brunch, as I have always seen a crowd waiting at its doors for opening moment. Here's a tip: sit at the bar for brunch--quicker refills on biscuits and mimosas!
by Min Y. on This place is tucked in an alleyway near Cypress St Pint and Plate, and across from The Biltmore. You totally wouldn't notice it at all if it weren't for the door people there. Inside, I can most aptly describe this place as a NYC-type lounge. It's got two levels, but not enough space for anyone to really do any dancing. But even if there was space, I doubt any dancing would go on as this isn't that type of crowd. The crowd is more see-and-be-seen, girls in cocktail dresses and men dressed sharply. The bartenders are so-so... they do the best they can with the crazy business there, and they are somewhat friendly but I can't say I'm either wowed or unhappy with them. The decor is definitely nice, it's very dimly lit and a lot of neon lights and such. Might hide the wrinkles on some of the older patrons here. Overall, it's a nice place to go to if you want to dress up and have a drink but don't feel the energy of clubbing. It's a prototypical lounge with typical lounge prices, service, and people.

Once I was inside I could have been in any club from Orange County to Vegas, and while that's not neccessarily bad (the formula must work), if you've slogged through the congestion off of Hollywood Blvd and gone through the trouble of getting in I feel like you should be rewarded by something more than the same old thing when you walk through the doors. I can't fairly vouch for the quality of their bottle service because the friends-of-friends I was with were embarrassingly tacky (tourists...) and if I were our waitress I would have splashed out our first drinks and beat a hasty retreat elsewhere, too. The people watching was interesting, but I never get the point of sitting at a table in a club where you're meant to be dancing. So once we got some alcohol in us most of us ditched the table in favor of exploring the club (it's a fairly good size) and I shook the tacky people to hang out with my friend and we seemed (from what I remember) to have a pretty good time in spite of the fact that the music was a bit on the lame side. The whole night wasn't too bad, but I can't say I wouldn't have had a better time elsewhere for less money. If you're into the dancing there are better places with better DJ's, and if you're looking for the whole Hollywood experience there are more impressive places to head to for all the time and money you're investing.
