1) LOUSY, retarded service. The servers are morons. 2) Price seems okay until you get the food. Portions couldn't even fill up a 4 year old kid. 3) The club was full of old geezers and fat chicks. Wow. Absolutely nothing attractive about this place, except perhaps the ambiance. Stay. Away.

I couldn't ask for much more than what I got when I finally made my way to Zahav's.  The concept is unique, the food was spectacular, the portions were well sized, the atmosphere was relaxed but trendy/hip, and the prices were good.  The only strange/offputting thing was that the waiters wore israeli military dress as their uniform. My girlfriend is vegetarian and I trend in that direction, so we did an all "dairy" meal.  We started with the small appetizer platter (minus the hummus), which includes 8 small dishes ranging from baked eggplant to tabbouleh to spicy chickpeas to beets and tahini.  All were delicious and a great size.  It was also super fun to taste 8 different plates right off the bat. We then moved on to the regular plates, which are tapas sized portions.  We had 4 between the two of us, which, combined with the appetizer, was the perfect amount of food.  The fried houmli (sp?) was decadent - different than what I ever imagined and oh so good.  The fried cauliflower was perfectly fried and not burnt with a nice lebaneh sauce.  The grilled eggplant (galil) was really tasty but a bit oversauced and a bit overwhelming.  Finally, the stuffed pepper was tasty, but not nearly as special as the rest of the meal.  The best part - with all of that food (12 dishes in all, plus some wonderful bread), we only paid $55 with tip.  No alcohol makes things pretty cheap of course, but $55 with tip is a pretty amazing price for such well made food. A nice side bar is that we went (just two of us) without reservations and were able to get a spot at the counter overlooking the kitchen without a wait.  The counter and the bar looked to always have two spaces open even though we were there from 8-9:30, prime eating hours.   Go!  Enjoy!  As my jewish grandmother said, "eat something, it's good for you!"

It's a meat market out there! The guys are major skeezoids and I had never been eye-effed so much in my life. Sickgusting. My girlfriends and I still managed to have a great time and snagged a comped bed and bottle service. Yep, we are ah-mazing! Debbie Downer: I was parched and therefore, forced to shell out 5 bones for a tiny bottle of Fiji. wah wah wah.
