Got a table with bottle service at the upstairs loft. The entire place felt like the old Mr. Smith's lounge but with the bar counter flipped the other way. Again, the DJ made the night!!!!!!!!
by Keith G. on It's a great place to hang out, but gets crazy crowded sometimes so you'll be wandering around with a drink 'n some food and no place to park it. I wanted to post a picture of their "sangria" however, as evidence of why you should NOT order it. It's just not sangria, and the reason for this is just so dumb. They make sangria by putting grapes in some combination of white wine and something else. Grapes. Not sliced or mashed, not any other fruit. Whole, unpeeled, grapes. And they don't even let it soak with the grapes, which might, after a day or two, actually get some flavor from the grapes. They put them in right then, right there. To me it's a clear sign that these people really don't care about what they're serving. Of course it's "just a summer job", but still, there should be someone at the helm watching what they're doing. So yeah, great view, great place to hang, so-so food for the price, best to stick to bottled beverages.
by Cathern Curby on my new favorite place in dirty dirty hollywood. ladies, dont wear your fancy dress and heels. and guys, you can take off that collared shirt. this is where you sneakers rule the floor and your dance moves get attention, not your looks. high ceilings and walls painted black and red. decent sized warehouse dance floor. surprisingly clean bathrooms. all accented with chinese decor. it was grungy and cheap looking, and i loved it! they say the best nights to go are saturdays for house music at Balance. but i really think its every other friday hosted by Incognito. its not as expensive as saturdays and its a little less crowded. and what club do you know that has house on a friday night that doesnt cost an arm and a leg? exactly! just this one. the drinks are good and cheap. to start the night off easy, i got a malibu pineapple for only $8. the bartenders are nice and informative, like they should be! im sick and tired of cranky jerk offs that make my drinks. and the best part? the people. i met more people at this club in one night than i have in the last year anywhere else. bomb ass dancers that i can relate to, all of which are fresh and friendly. and not every house dancer wears a fedora! i sure as hell dont. the sucky part? parking blows. i pulled into the parking lot because the guy said it was $6. 15ft later another guy says its $10! i asked if it would have been cheaper if we said we were going somewhere other than king king..."if you were going somewhere else, it'd actually cost $15". WOW, wft man? i would suggest circling the block if you want to find street parking, its completely possible. make sure you sign up for guestlist. check king kings website and theyre affiliates. and have an awesome time!
