by Mari B. on Went here for Restaurant Wk & was excited to check it out. The decor is nice & we didn't have to wait long (we dis have a reservation). Our waiter was attentive & helpful. The hummus & pita at the beg is very yummy...Started with their Cesar Salad. You can't go wrong with that but regret not getting the Butternut Squash like my friends - that looked good & they raved about it. I saw the comments about the chicken on rateclubs but regretted that decision. My friend had it and it was cooked perfectly however the Mac&Cheese was nothing major to rave about. I had the seafood risotto. OMG the chef forgot to season it. The table tasted it & agreed there was no seasoning. All you tasted was lemon. What a bummer. Dessert was okay but nothing too great. It was doughnuts & wasn't too spectacular, but the banana ice cream it came with wS sooo good. Wine pairing was nice & so was their hot tea. Because the bathroom is shared with the bar & restaurant that changes the atmosphere. Always great to see super drunk drinks in the bathroom while you're dining. One chick was falling over & banging on bathroom doors (it's a small bathroom to begin with) and another was laughing at the fact she didn't know where she was at...Yup pretty classy! I can see the complaint about the valet issue but those guys do hustle. Found out they have to run 2-3 blocks to get the cars. Logistically crazy so tip them, it's not their fault.
by Jill S. on This lively American Bar and Grill is always an excellent option for my friends and I. The menu is huge and literally has something for everyone from the vegetarian to the meat eater. The servers are knowledgable and attentive. The outdoor seating is fabulous for people watching. Happy hour is always a blast in this lively spot with excellent drinks and bartendars that aim please! I reccommend The Tavern to anyone looking for a good and consistant casual meal with friends.
by Blair Grell on Whole Grilled Branzino was incredible. Go when you want "Esca" quality but prefer a seat under the lighted trees of the park-like setting. Huge place broken ito several intimate dining/seating areas. Choose indoor for more formal banquettes. And of course break open an orange from the huge wire baskets. Your table will smell delightful and your friends will be charmed. Superb finish to great food.
