by Travis L. on I had the chance to check out the Ecco a couple times recently, and also DJed there. This place harkens back to classic European style clubs with an open layout, a sunken dancefloor and quadrophonic sound. It has great site lines from anywhere and the turbosound is bangin'. There's easy access to the bar and ample seating. The patio could be a little bigger with some better seating options, but that's a minor gripe. For DJs, the booth is very customizable and complete, although the monitors in the ceiling are loud and oddly placed. Essentially a nice small/mid sized club with just enough grit and flair to strike a good balance.
by Ashlyn Menefield on Halo apparently offers something a little different to the ATL scene. Not quite a club, but a step up from a bar. There's certainly a DJ and it's way too loud to hold any real conversation, but it doesn't have that overwhelming feeling of the larger dance clubs. The dance floor is upstairs so you can easily get away from the craziness and just belly up to the uber-hip bar. The crowd also seemed a good bit more laidback than typical clubs. Sure, there were plenty of women wearing next to nothing, but there were also a lot in jeans who (like me) had probably just come from the other bars in the area.

Cause nobody in there is watching sports -1 star The food is atrocious -1 star The drinks are pricey -1 star The place is just weird. Whoever owns this place is not even trying. I dont understand why they buy the MLB package or why they have the big screen. Almost nobody is in the bar area and absolutely nobody is watching the behoemeth (sp?) screen in front of them! Plus I went there at around 7PM on a Saturday so it was a time that there should be some sort of a crowd one would think. So I don't get it. I think it must be owned by Sony or something and they don't care. Whateva! Also when we were leaving it seemed they were getting ready for a night of the bridge and tunnel playas. The DJ booth, waiters moving tables for a dancefloor and about 10 big dudes in yellow plastic security jackets getting ready for a night of standing by the door and flexing.
