Long version: Word to the wise, y'all. Just because you can afford a used BMW and a $200 shirt does not mean you need to act like jackasses when you go out for dinner. It's a freaking burger place, people, not some exclusive NYC hotspot. Folks in my base of operations here need to get a grip, for real. Though I will say it'd help if these trendy-type restaurants turned down the damn music so people could, you know, converse without shouting. Anyway....the food.... Food is solid. If you're hungry at all, maybe order two burgers, as they're kind of small (maybe 4 oz each). Everything is well executed, however - I last went with a group of ten or so people and we all liked what we got, and a few of the diners are generally pretty picky. The food is very reasonably priced, even with a-la-carte sides. I sampled each of four burgers - veggie, lamb, something with bbq sauce, and the butcher burger. Their ketchup is good, and I normally don't care for ketchup as a condiment. They have a few twists on mayo that are good too. Regular fries and sweet potato fries are light, crisp, and correctly seasoned. Both solid choices. I ordered the zucchini fries for myself, and liked them best of all three "fry" options. If this same food could be served in an atmosphere that didn't resemble a partially renovated East-German discotheque, I'd go back all the time. I hear lunch is less of a meat market, so I may try that if I'm stuck in A-town during the week sometime.
by Lucretia Faustman on I went to Kress last Saturday with just my girlfriend and I really enjoyed myself. By far the top floor , the rooftop floor was the best. Each floor has its own vibe but I had a wristband that allowed me to get on every floor and I didn't know about the other 3 floors until an hour into the club. The vibe with the rooftop was pretty amazing except there is a lot of cigarette smoke up there which is why I couldn't give it 4 stars and a couple of guys I met said that it was better during the week but Ii had a good time nevertheless. Oh and as for drinks the Sex On the Beach was on point!
