4.5, but rounded up. I went here with a friend this weekend expecting mediocre bar-type fare, but our food and service were excellent. Waiter recommended the french onion soup dumplings, which were DELICIOUS. Shoestring fries were good, but could have benefitted from being a little thicker - you can barely taste them as thin as they come now. The mayonnaise that we asked for was delicious, much better than the mustard which was a little too spicy. The seared salmon that we ordered to split was absolutely wonderful, cooked to perfection and tasted buttery. The salad that came with was nice although a little too vinaigrette-y. But the salmon was so delicious. And the desert! Unbelievable cheesecake that was likely the best I've ever had. The PB&J ice-cream cookie came in a close second. The service was very attentive and helpful and I loved the decor (sort of a 1970's space vibe); we sat in the hanging wicker chairs and found it to be kind of cozy for a big, lively restaurant. Highly recommended.

Okay before I write my review, I have a confession to make. My uncle owns Rassela's. But I have to assure you that this food is the most authentic and tasty Ethiopian food that you will get. A good sign of an ethnic restuarant is when you see a lot of people from that culture happily eating the food there. I can honestly say that we all go there delighted with the fact that they have stayed true to our roots and eat delicious, tasty food. Plus there is the jazz. Who doesn't love jazz?

"My Hangout" Those who want to get away from the "bottle service" and over-priced bars around the Hollywood scene need to go the Little Temple Bar at the corner of Santa Monica Blvd and Virgil. Near the artsy SilverLake area. Not only do I frequent this bar/nightclub every Friday night, but I can be seen there on Saturdays and Sundays as well enjoying the nightlife. Two rooms for dancing, from Hip-Hop to Merenge, the D.J.'s spin everything you can dance to. Big props to one of the resident D.J.'s, "Slow-poke" who tears the one's and two's every friday night in the second room with every'ting danceable. From friendly security guards to nice as hell bartenders, this is the place to be. And say hi to bartender "Rick" in the second room, one of the best bartenders in L.A.! Oh and plenty of fine honeys for the men and vise versa. I highly recommend Friday and Saturday nights but if you like reggae be there on Sunday. Recognize me there and I'll buy you a drink!!
