Went here for a friend's birthday last Saturday. Went to the downstairs area, called "Parlour" which has its own separate entrance in the rear. It was full on Russian night, with some people we know DJing and the crowd probably 90% Russian. No cover, and a $10 parking lot right across the street. It was a fun time with awesome music, but it is a tiny packed area downstairs with almost no room to move around. Felt like I was pushing past people all night. We ended up staying only about an hour because of this. Went upstairs and it was a hiphop night, not really our scene so we went back down to squeeze through the crowds some more. Big plus - a Kettle One & tonic was only $8. Aight, but probably won't be back unless going there for friends.

Last night I was hired to work as a model for a large company party hosted at Terra's event gallery. The idea of making money on a Saturday night verses spending it was too hard to turn down...... so I dressed to impress and headed over to the SOMA location for my work date at 8. Nothing could have prepared me for such extravagant and unbelievable evening.  From the red carpet to the dreamy decor, every moment of this posh party was unbelievable. It felt as if I had stepped onto the scenes of "Entourage" partying in excessive and outrageous grandeur. Lets back up a bit...... what company was our generous host for this stylish Saturdays night scene? Advanced Nutrients a Vancouver, Canada company is the number one manufacturer of hydroponics fertilizers and plant growth formulas. Founded six years ago, Advanced Nutrients sells products worldwide. They have more than 100 employees and several manufacturing facilities.  The company is most proud of the fact that it is the number one supplier and grower of medical marijuana in the world. Advanced Nutrients has been featured in Forbes, Playboy and other media. The story of the company's founding, its products, its involvement with Hollywood, and its business success are among the most interesting stories that I've ever read. With an extremely successful business and a love for "growing things good" the company has the means to throw REALLY CRAZY PARTIES. Once my girlfriend and I arrived at Terra and were welcomed with free valet parking and a long, wide red carpet. Through the grand entrance way and into the space we found much more than we had bargained for. The first floor housed a few large rooms, all decorated with colorful lights and cool company themed decor (and yes, that included several large light up posters of pot on every door). Open bars were set up throughout each room, serving up delicious drinks in glowing glasses. Five tables of catered food each offered a different cuisine in creative and appetizing assortments. Lets review that shall we? - Full set up of sushi and Japanese dishes underneath a large Buddha ice sculpture. - Mediterranean spread with kebabs, flat breads, grilled chicken, and Caresse salads. - Californian inspired salads, pastas, and rice dishes. Grilled veggies and fresh fruits. - Dessert table with gourmet cakes, cookies, tarts, and sweets. Large jars filled with gumdrops, lollipops, jelly beans, and chocolate things. Oh and lets not forget the HUGE table of "drunk-high munchies": the 7/11 spread of chips, candy, and junk food. The second room housed a large dance space, stage with a talented live band, and DJ to keep the music flowing all night long. Go-Go dancers "worked it" on mini stages throughout the room with spinning lights and special effects to keep it crazy. A larger bar space connected to the dance floor, with lots of lounge chairs and VIP booths. The circular bar served up fancier drinks, including several Ice Luge shots. The most interesting ice luge I've seen yet, an ice luge bong (picture included - check it out!) bubbled and steamed while serving up shots. Downstairs, two quieter lounges offered some breathing room and a music break. The space was dimly lit in blue, purple, and green with low couches and cool tables. Tarot card/ Palm readers, and  fortune tellers told us each our futures and fantasies. And of course.....another bar, more cocktails, and waitstaff serving food. Last but not least was the patio space - a large outdoor bar and lounge. A place where the par tiers could enjoy their products and smoke until their hearts content.   A coffee cart cooked up spiked lattes, mochas, and hot coco to keep you warm in the smokey summer air. To be honest, I have never smoked weed...... EVER. But after spending an evening talking to so many smart and talented business men, I can now appreciate the products they produce. I'll still probably never smoke, but I now respect pot's purpose in the world. The company was more than generous and I still can't believe I was paid to party with such cool people. I'm still in disbelief from this surreal Saturday night! For large companies looking to celebrate - Terra's space is THE place to host an event employees won't forget.

The line was ridiculous.   Fortunately we knew someone to get us in right away, but if I had to wait it out for an hour, I think I'd go crazy. I liked how even though the place is MASSIVE, it never felt that way.  Lots of little rooms, multiple dance floors, tons of bars... it was like being in 5 clubs in the same night! I do have some cons, -- $12 for a tiny little drink... seriously. two sips, gone. -- the bartender handed someone else's card to my friend. -- the bartender charged my other friend's card multiple times. -- it is REALLY easy to lose people. -- you have to walk through the outside (smoking) area right when you enter (*cough cough* ... *gag gag* ... party time?) I would give it 4-stars if it not all of those cons were there.
