by Veronica S. on Solid club in San Francisco. I would have to say that the bouncers were pretty pretentious and full of it.. The scene inside is standard/typical for SF. Mixed crowd. Lots of dancing. Music is mostly top 40 with some random songs thrown in, too. The restroom lines are ridiculous for the girls..prepare to wait 15 long minutes during peak hours. Would I come here again? Yes...but only if friends are heading there.

The sort of place that makes itself "exclusive" by using marketing words like "decadent" and "tantalizing" in order to justify charging $500 for a "VIP" seat" or 6 bucks for a mexican beer. Here's a tip... $500 for a VIP seat?... does VIP mean "very ignorant pretentiousness"... It's just a bar.. Spending $500 dollars on it (even when $100 goes to charity) is just plain stupid. You're not buying cool. You'd be better off spending that money on a very large tattoo that says "tool" to go on your forehead...I'm just sayin.. Can we not save this sort of LA style cheeze crap for south of market?

Saw Robin Williams perform a few weeks ago and saw Richard Cheese and the Lounge Against the Machine band play last nite. Sound was great both times... and we managed to get seats up front for both shows. I think that only improved the show.. but doesn't seem like there's necessarily a bad seat in the house. Get there early to ensure a good spot. Dress up. Know their drinks are 1940's size... SMALL. Drinks are cheaper (not by much, but still cheaper) at the bar versus the table service. Faster too. Tip the bathroom attendant, yes - there is one. She's hilarious.
