by young k. on If you crave something greasy once in a while you'll like the varsity. Get the chili slaw dogs and onion rings. I like the varsity in Norcross and Alpharetta, they are cleaner, give bigger portions, and the food isn't cold. I still miss Cupid's in L.A., their dogs snap when you bite them
by Kory Cuffee on I have a real problem with this place. I've been here a few times for salsa night. I would probably really like Copa, if it were not for one thing. My major beef with this place is that the bartenders charge for water. I understand that bars need to make money. I'm not trying to cheap out on them (hey, I paid a cover, paid for salsa lessons, and tipped the band!), but sometimes I don't order alcoholic beverages. Sometimes it's because I'm alternating between cocktails and water, sometimes it's because I'm designated driver, sometimes I'm just hot and my mouth is dry I just want a nice cool sip of h2o. The first time, I paid $2 for each bottle of water. Next time I was wise to their water ways so I asked for a cup of tap water. The bartender rolled his eyes at me and told me it would be $1. First of all, I don't appreciate eye rolling, and secondly, I think its bad policy for bars and restaurants to charge for water. I wonder if they charge for water during lunch? I doubt I'll be back to find out.
