by Vanessa M. on My former boss hangs out here consistently.. he's a creepy dirty old man in his early 60's in an "open marriage" who trolls for women here..ick but the Urban Spoon app picked it so I thought Id give it a shot and keep an open mind. I have so much to say.. but lets start with the decor..At first glance it looks like a Tommy Bahamas, Abercrombie & Fitch store or possible a pottery barn. Plantation shutters , dark wood tables, with nicely carved highback chairs...then there is the ceiling...whick looks like its out of an 80s art show. Black glossy block design with blue and red neon lighting..and a disco ball in he center. Its tacky and ruins any class this place might exude..but that's not all. The waitresses wearing ligh blue satin corsets with black bras...trashy, & far from classy.. it exudes a wanna be upscale gentleman's club and it completely misses the mark. As for the clientele.. Im 38 and I was the youngest patron in there..It was a Sunday and appeared to be AARP night. But as we were leaving it was packing up with overly tanned, overly coiffed Jersey Shore type bikers. It seems there was an auction happening and ther was a "Scott Weiland" look alike going table to table trying to hustle cash out of the patrons for raffle tickets. It was weird and uncomfortable. First.. who carries cash anymore.. Second.. it would have been smart for the waitresses to propose the purchases to their respective tables and have the option to charge their debit card to purchase the ticket..much like you would a gratuity. I have to say the martini selection is extensive and fantastical!! Their food was quite delicious, the service was friendly and for that i would return and the only reason I give it 3 stars..but its the only reason....it seeps an incredibly creepy vibe.
by Darrel Vanhofwegen on hahaha so its not THAT bad of a place, but is really just whatever. also is small and too crowded. Here are my key impressions. first of all, even if you get a table, the tables are a a joke, really small, and people are practically dancing on top of your stuff (aka lets spill the patron on the floor yay hehe) second of all, if you buy a round of drinks, they include gratuity?? Come on really? What is this fine dining, 20% for a shot? third of all, the music was just not so good.
by Delmer Hok on Eh, they've got a great bar and I could give them an extra star just for their hushpuppies, which are awesome and I'm sure wickedly bad for you, after the Oakland Cemetery Hallowee Tour we popped over there and while everything was fine at the bar (except for them being out of no less than 3 beers we asked for) everything was not so fine at the table. The waiter was a bit of a hoot, but apparently the restaurant ran out of cod so the only "fish and chips" was with catfish, which none of the 3 people who had ordered the dish at the table were keen on. They opt'd for other dishes and turns out the chicken fingers were quite tasty and we were able to score some extra hushpuppies. I've gotta stick with 3 stars, though I do love the new location, I'm not sure they really do anything for me, though if you're looking for a cool hang out around Grant Park it's a good find. Hopefully the woman's bathroom will be fixed very soon, not a good thing to have an issue with at a bar :).
