by Omer Ohlinger on Went to Avalon last night for Control (Dance Right). The bouncer or whomever was absolutely rude. Like funny rude. But if we were on the east coast the kind of rude that would get you punched in the face. People go out to have a good time not to get hassled by assholes. That whole experience made me want to never go there again. This is the second time I've been there and run into him. Poop on him. Then again my idea of fun isn't standing in line... I did like the free colt 45 and the DJ in that room was fun. I just don't need the added bonus of stroking some dudes ego to fuel his own emotional problems. Short Stop, although there is a line the guy there is a sweetheart and drinks are cheap.
by Chino B. on I've only been here a few times but when I remember that it's the last Saturday of the month and I have nothing to do. I go here and it's a much more laid back, yet fun crowd (probably because everyone is 21+ and drunk). The music is more 80's based than Popscene and when Pulp starts playing, it's over.
