by Jonelle Shuecraft on Yes, the restaurant is so cool, the steak was really, really good, overall the food was 5*, BUT the service was so bad. We had a reservation, and when we entered the restaurant, nobody was there at the desk and nobody showed up. So we have been standing there approx. 5-8 minutes, and you could see some waiters standing at the bar talking to each other, but nobody took care of us. After a couple of minutes, a waitress came with her arms crossed, asking, do you need any help?? I mean, not even saying hello or sorry for waiting so long. Another waiter came and wanted to give her the menu to guide us to out table, but she shaked her head and told him he should help us. Ok, he gave us a table next to the kitchen, which was ok. But for the rest of the evening, we have been waiting for a couple of things, and he hasn't been friendly at all. When he was explaining the menu of the day, he didn't even looked at us once and the way he described everything, wasn't very appetizing. The guy who delivered our food was really nice and friendly, and he also described everything, that was great. But it took forever that the waiter came again to our table and we have been able to order another drink. We saw them all talking at the bar the whole evening, and the waitress also went to her guests with her arms crossed. I mean, they seemed to be so hip, but they are not hip, they have just been impolite. We have to look for the waiter and had to turn around to show him that we want to order anyhting. Cool restaurant, and a "cool" service. Even when we got the check, they didn't say thank you or have a great day. Nothing. Maybe I would go there again because of the food, but there are a couple of steak restaurants in NY, maybe not that cool, but the food is as good as it is here. But, I would never take a guest or businesspartner there, I would be afraid of the rude service. And, it wasn't been busy in there, it has been at 6pm. I expected more.....
by Thao Trine on Took Lil Miss Reeves (13) here on a trip.... she watches the TV show and thought it was cool. We had the Omakase for two - which was awesome. Seven courses of excellent food. I don't remember the exact dishes, but we think they were Fish, Fish, Fish, Fish, Fish, Cake. They were all very good - but you gotta like fish. The setting was very modern and you can watch the chefs, which was entertaining. And our waitress was very professional, classy, and knowledgeable about the menu. Minus a star because it was a little bit pricey ($210 for dinner for two, 2 glasses of wine). Also the wine list was a little thin.... Be sure to check out the restrooms, the decor is worth the long walk downstairs and through the hall.
