by andy m. on I decided to come here for NYE. And I got there around 10:30 which is WAY early and it was completely dead. But I read so many great reviews here on rateclubs I decided to hang out and wait to see if it would fill up. AND IT DID. I had a BLAST here. I met so many cool people and just over all had a great time. And to my pleasant surprise its connected to The Drunkin Unicorn, one of my go to places for concerts. SO i got to dance, see cool live music and meet awesome people. I dont really have a reason to NOT give it 5 stars. I just am choosing not to. This may change on my next visit. QUICKTIPS: If your scrolling through reviews looking for a reason to not go. well you clearly are looking for a fun night. by Toastface Grillah X. on At 3:30 am on a Fri. night, after getting turned away at Pravda and Puck Fair, Back Fence extended a warm welcome to me and my friends for a final nightcap. For that gesture alone, Back Fence earned my respect. It's a friendly dive with a sawdust and peanuts shell covered floor and the band that was playing that night consisted of a couple of guys just playing whatever folksy-bluesy songs they felt like playing. Cool to kick it for a beer or two if you get tired of the "scene" at some of the nearby Bleecker bars.
