I got free drinks, big shrimp, and an awesome tour.  I took pics of a badger autopsy.  Raccoon?  Whatever.  What a smell! Dress light, it's warm inside and humid.  Great for a date or family trip.  21+ I got the VIP Platinum tickets and it was worth the extra $.  Do it right if you're gonna do it.  Our guide's radio went out and that was kind of funny.  Bring a camera and take your lens cap off,  it's one Kodak moment after another.  +1 for W.G.'s joke about a certain planet.

Doryan talked me into it....no, actually I've been curious about this spot since it opened. I had occasion to stop by last nite with hubby and my grrl and was very pleased to be immediately seated at 8:30 on a Sat night. Maybe the "frost is off the pumpkin" here. I think the decor is a solid 5 star. Watching tall women sit in the ridiculously tiny, short chairs was amusing (women beware of short skirts in here....your knees may be up to your chin when you sit!). All the chairs are different and mixed and matched at each table. The artwork is very cool to look at on the walls and we sat next to some contraption with a fan blade and a light and gears and stuff. Very steampunkish. Our waitress was very informative and super hot too....I love the Betty Pagish look with the short hair, nice dress, and tattoos all up and down the arms. So sexy....sigh....I digress. As has been noted, service was slow, but we didn't mind too much. This place begs to be leisured in. We each ordered an interesting "old fashioned" style drink and none of us were too happy with our choices. Two were served in tiny jelly jars with huge chunks of ice in them. Hubby took an ice chunk out of his glass and the volume sunk to about half level....um, for $9?? No, thanks. The grrl had the zanorhita (sp?) that was a carroty tequila drink and mine was the "Old Man and the Sea" which was super grapefruity. I think our overwhelming consensus was to stick with Peche when it comes to creative drinking. We also sampled the appetizers. The cheese plate had three very good samples on it with candied pecans and apples, and I enjoyed my green salad, which also had apples and sauteed onions and little pockets of palate pleasing honey. Hubby and my grrl split the shrimp and grits and they agreed that it was just ok. Our croissants were huge and flakey and no doubt worth all 2000 calories we ingested. I just don't think I would make the trip back again unless it would be to catch one of those odd performance art shows that I would probably run into Doryan at :) And then I would stick to wine.....

Good Times. It's like a big and spacious Milk. Lots of Parking on Utah Street. I was literally parked in front of the building on Friday night when Reignforest Collective had their party. The drinks were decently priced. About $8/drink and the bartender wasn't sheisty with the liquor. I only needed 2...tho I'm pretty Low-Tol at the moment.. It holds a lot of people and it wasn't a claustrophobic amoeba...at times There's lots of stalls in the bathroom - about 5 - which is great... but it smelled REALLY bad and the toilets were leaky, unless people don't know how to aim (you know what i'm sayin...) But yea. Lots of fun and hospitable... met some fun people while spending time with old friends.
