(I'm referring to her recent "Circus" album that could have inspired the vision for Carnival bar on University Place). Carnival is a theme bar attached to Bowlmor bowling lanes and it has carnival games complete with tickets, stuffed animal an gold fish prizes!! During the day they have children's parties with face painting and a "fun house" space dedicated to private parties. The place is brightly lit and feels circus-like. and has cocktail waitresses in burlesque attire serving drinks and takin orders. I thought it was a fun novelty to make a visit here after a few games of bowling. I also brought home a giant stuffed Tweety as a prize from the "Milk Money" carnival game. To play, tickets coat $1 each and that's no more expensive than the local street fair, you know? I don't know how it is at night but for a stop after Bowlmor, I think it's definitely interesting.
by Edith Dewalt on It is an Atlanta landmark but that does not mean it is good. The only thing I enjoy here is the frosted orange which is very good. The rest of the stuff I have had there includes burgers, dogs, fries, o-rings, chicken sandwiches, hot wings, and milk shakes - all of these items range from mediocre to terrible. Just get a Frosted Orange and a Varsity hat then go across the street for better greasy fast food at J.R. Cricket's. 1 star for the Frosted Orange and 1 star for the pimp hats and for being an Atlanta institution. 2
by Peanuts The Guinea Pig B. on Picture all three Gotti brothers with their electrocuted hair, stepping into a cloning machine, then picture that clonging machine packing in their duplicates like sardines, wall-to-wall into this, classy, respectable, high-end club and you will have some idea of just how fantastic this place is.
