by Elizabeth O. on To those girls this past Saturday who gave up their ID but then heard there was a cover (just $5), and left because "we don't do covers" missed out BIG TIME and I told them so. I've been going to bOb on and off for years and it is by far the best old school hip hop joint in town. I can't say enough about the DJs here (they are awesome) but there's just something so special about the people that go here. No matter what year it is and how old I get, everyone just leaves all pretention at the door and folks dance with one another no matter the age, race, sexual orientation, etc. It's like the United Nations hopped up on sweat, love and good music. I love this place. I literally go for the exercise and good tunes but if I end up dancing with someone, I'm always well aware that it's just dancing. No one "expects anything" at this place. It's awesome! Just good old clean fun. Well, not totally clean. he he. But don't come in large groups. You piss off the regulars and can't really hang with your peeps when it's really just the size of a nice size 1 bedroom apartment. Leave the bachelorette parties to Hunkorama please. I hate tripping on those stupid penis straws when I'm trying to get my groove on.
by Cleo Hornbeak on Bowlmor is great if the bowling, shoe rental, food, and drink are free (i came here for an all-inclusive party). the staff was on top of everything and operated the event impressively smoothly. food abounded and the drinks we were poured stiffly. they even ushered us into a private room after our reservation ended so we could use up the rest of our drink tickets. i also must say that i've never seen newer, more stylish bowling shoes... my feet have never looked this good before while bowling! if you're considering renting this place out for a party, your party attendees will surely have a good time. i doubt i'd come here otherwise.
