The best New Years Eve I've ever had was spent at the Clermont Lounge with Kingsized.  I'm in my 50's and I'm from NYC. Is Blondie still dancin'? Follow the rules and you'll be fine and you'll have a blast!

I'm currently curled up in my bed, unable to move, because of the heavy duty dancing I did last night. Wear the right shoes, go to Deep on Sunday, and party hard. Best part of my evening: watching a cute little grandmother get down with her breakdancing grandkids.

I'm a big Iron Chef fan....the REAL iron chef show and not the lame Iron Chef America show.  So, when I had the opportunity to eat at Morimoto when I flew back to Philly for my good friend's wedding, I couldn't pass it up. Considering how popular Chef Morimoto is, how AWESOME he is on the show (kicking wimpy-whiny-ass Bobby Flay's butt on the show), and all the great reviews on the restaurant, I had some super-high expectations.  So, I ordered the Omakase and my wife requested a "special" omakase that didn't have any super-raw items.  Overall, the food was good....not spectacular.  Now, the quality of the ingredients were excellent and everything was delicious.  It just didn't give me that WOW factor. There was a Kobe beef small plate, hamachi sashimi small plate, and other plates that I really don't recall much about.  And, therein lies the rub....it just wasn't that memorable.   For my wife's special Omakase, it was also very good but they basically just cooked or charred everything a little bit more than usual. Was there a lot of ingenuity in the dishes (i.e. Top Chef or Iron Chef style)?  Yeah I guess, but nothing to crap all in my pants over.  I think I had more creative dishes at Chez TJ in Mountain View, CA.   So, would I recommend this place?  Yeah, but with a mild caveat--good food, nice atmosphere/ambiance, but pretty pricey. So, go if you got money to burn and don't mind spending about $200 for a dinner for two because it is good eats.  However, there are better places out there in the same class--Le Bec Fin or Deux Cheminees (unfortunately, now closed).
