by Charlene R. on meh. I wasn't really digging the music. Too much electronic/house for my taste. I'm a KMEL chick and they more of a 94.9 place. We were upstairs and had a VIP table, which was a good thing, cuz trying to work through the crowd to the bar is a beeyotch. That place gets packed FAST. All in all a good experience, would get four stars if they catered to my music taste. I know, I'm biased.
by Pamelia Nacci on I usually go down to this place on Wednesday night when they have live soul, hip hop and funk., and it is great. Actually it makes me feel like I am not in Seattle at all. Feels more like I stepped out to a Roots show in Philly or at the old Ying Yang Cafe in Atlanta when people like the Goodie Mob and India Arie would get up and do their thing. Seattle needs more of this kind of thing. I think it is great to see there is a vibrant group of young musicians, singer and rappers dedicated to this music in Seattle. I would have given this place an even higher rating except for the one bathroom situation.
by Shawnta Hint on If you're prepared for the price, have the cash, and have a reservation, this is a fantastic brunch option. Quirky, local, homegrown, about as original as it gets. Carmen always has 4 items on the menu, which changes weekly and is determined by what she can get in the nearby market. Usually 1 is pancakes or waffles and one is an omlette. All are delicious, amazing, inventive, and unusual. All are $12, meat costs extra. Super friendly staff, lots of coffee refills, and a fun time playing "find the porn" in the decor.
